From the MEI Archives #9- Carnkie 1999
This photo was taken at Wheal Basset, in the Camborne-Redruth mining area in September 1999, during Minerals Engineering '99. It was the first of many visits to the 19th century Basset Mines for MEI Conference delegates.
Delegates are standing below the main engine house which drove the stamp batteries, and by one of the deep pits which housed one of the giant flywheels.
