Barbara and I arrived in Cape Town today to hear the tragic news that Rosemary Franzidis, wife of J-P Franzidis, former consultant to MEI's flotation conferences and now an Emeritus Professor at the University of Cape Town, has been tragically killed in a crash near Brisbane, where Rose and J-P have been living since J-Ps retirement.
"Rosemary Franzidis was a much-loved wife, mother, and grandmother, who cherished her family more than anything in the world," her family said in a statement.
Rose was a lovely lady who will be missed by friends and family in South Africa, the United Kingdom, Australia and the USA. Our thoughts are with our good friend J-P, their three daughters, and three grandchildren.

The skill Rose demonstrated to bring people together over a delicious meal was amazing to behold. Her loving kindness will be remembered, and she will be sorely missed.

ReplyDeleteRosemary was a beautiful person. She had moved to Brisbane a short while before we arrived, and extended her hand of warm and gentle friendship. She was such a kind and generous person and I have never forgotten her. We send our condolences to JP and all their girls and families.
ReplyDeleteA life taken too soon. Rosemary was the first person to extend her warm and generous friendship to our family as new immigrants to Australia. I have never forgotten that. Our thoughts are with you JP, and your girls.

A marvelous chef and social creature, who struggled personally to prioritise herself as she values others so much she left little room for herself, but lived the immense joy she created in the friendships and social times she encouraged for others to partake in.

This is terribly sad news. I had the great pleasure to engage with her as part of one of the P9 meetings in Turkey. From her smile, wonderful in the picture from 2014, it is already clear it was a shiny, special person that was a pleasure to be close to! She was soft spoken and a fantastic company during our sightseeing trips after long meetings, always with caring and thoughful coments. My deepest condolences to my good friend J-P and the family.

Rose will be remembered as a loving, caring and generous person of strong faith by family and friends. After almost 50 years of marriage, J.-P. has always spoken about Rose with passion and love. No words can express the gaping hole that Rose's premature passing is leaving in the lives of J.-P. , their daughters and grandchildren.
