Chris Kelsey: 1936-2022

While in Cape Town for Comminution '23 I heard the sad news that Chris Kelsey had died on the 3rd December 2022, aged 87.

Back in 2016 I had the great pleasure of interviewing Chris, one of mineral processing's great innovators, most well known for the Kelsey Jig, who also had a long history of innovation in engineering design, particularly in the area of mineral processing equipment, where his latest innovation was the IMPTEC Super Fine Crusher.

Although I never met Chris, I got to know him via the interview and it was obvious that he was a larger than life Australian with a great zest for life, not only an engineer but a talented musician and racing car enthusiast and a devoted family man.

I am sure that those of you who knew Chris have many stories to tell, and I invite you to share them here along with your personal tributes to one of the last of the great mineral processing inventors.
