Y...Nikkam I think you have misunderstood something. You say "I am glad to know that, CSM is again going to start the programs on Mining, and obviously the Mineral Processing will follow it". The debate has been about the fact that Exeter University is planning to scrap the degree in mining. The mineral processing undergraduate degree went several years agoMEIhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14834780351452765156noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6908362959739425575.post-297459808393836462020-09-30T12:56:17.663+01:002020-09-30T12:56:17.663+01:00Dr Barry,
You are correct. With the developments t...Dr Barry,<br />You are correct. With the developments that are taking place globally in the digital technology and other related areas Mining and Mineral Processing is going occupy the center position. Because metal extraction can be possible only after mining and beneficiation of these natural resources. Availability of electricity at an affordable price from the natural resources like coal etc. will continue for another 30 to 40 years. I am glad to know that, CSM is again going to start the programs on Mining, and obviously the Mineral Processing will follow it.<br />I am happy to mention that, presently Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School Mines-Dhanbad) is running a full-fledged 4-yearB Tech Program in Minerals Engineering, since 1984. Today, the pass outs of this program are globally distributed and occupied key positions in Mineral Processing.Prof Nikkam Suresh, Indian Institute of Technology, (Indian school of Mines), Dhanbadhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17682510868099058501noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6908362959739425575.post-48932670812662680302020-09-28T04:21:05.677+01:002020-09-28T04:21:05.677+01:00Barry,I am delighted that "Cornwall" (so...Barry,I am delighted that "Cornwall" (so dear to your heart] is keeping the FLAG of mineral exploration and practices" flying high."<br />I am sure your narration would enthuse many to revisit abandoned mines with these new techniques / spread the net wider to find minerals from new sources.<br />I am fully convinced that extensive geo and geophysical surveys/modelling to estimate resources which can be converted into reserves with innovative mineral processing/metallurgical technique are present challenges--future looks very bright both for academicians/industry.Rao,T.C.https://www.blogger.com/profile/11160713677908165404noreply@blogger.com
